Old Dog Adoption
Words of Wisdom from an old dog about old dogs and people.

Please read this passionate argument by a Senior Dog on behalf of his seasoned peers in favor of adopting mature dogs. This compelling emotional plea does not repeat the usual superficial arguments about saved shoes, handbags and furniture.
Instead, it gives you a sometimes discomforting inside view of the sufferings of senior dogs that were abandoned by their family after many years of faithful service.
If you care to know the horrific truth and want to know why mature dogs make such exceptional pets, please take a few minutes to read this article by Windsor "Longtail" King MacArthur.

His best friend BETH, now Lucy, is never far behind. When Windsor came to know her, she had spent five years of her life (then said to be 10 years) in a rescue kennel. She was safe, she did not have to fear for her life anymore, she was well fed and received as much love as as the volunteers could give her. Yet, Beth was consumed by the desire for a family, for a place of her own, a pack to belong to. Desperate, frustrated and without hope and with nowhere to go, she became a 'meat grinder'.
